Fox Sports Networks (FSN) is a group of regional sports networks in the United States owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. The network was originally launched as Prime Sports Network in 1988 and was later rebranded as Fox Sports Net (FSN) in 1996.
FSN provides regional sports coverage for various professional and collegiate sports teams in different markets across the country. Some of the most prominent sports leagues covered by FSN include Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Hockey League (NHL), and collegiate sports such as NCAA football and basketball.
The network offers a wide range of programming, including live game broadcasts, analysis, pre and post-game shows, original sports-related programming, and documentaries. Each regional network has its own lineup of teams and programming, tailored to the specific market it serves.
FSN has undergone several rebranding efforts and ownership changes over the years. In 2019, Sinclair Broadcast Group acquired the regional sports networks from The Walt Disney Company, which had obtained them as part of the acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets. The networks are now part of Sinclair's portfolio and continue to operate under the Fox Sports Networks brand.
While FSN remains a popular destination for regional sports coverage, it faces increasing competition from other sports networks and streaming platforms, which offer viewers more options for accessing sports content.
